On January 31, 2024, The Santa Barbara Education Foundation held its first award ceremony for student grant recipients. SBEF awards $5,000 to students representing clubs or projects that “[Enrich] the academic, artistic, and/or personal development of students in the Santa Barbara Unified School District.”

The Forge used our funding from the grant to produce publication-day shirts for members of The Forge to wear, so readers can identify the people that write, design, and edit the newspaper on campus. 

The Forge encourages other organizations at SBHS to apply for this grant! Applications open March 1, 2024 and more information (such as eligibility requirements) can be found at sbefoundation.org/student-grants
