Sushi Go Go Reopens

On May 19, Santa Barbara’s local Sushi Go Go finally reopened. After its sudden closing that would last six months, this local sushi restaurant is open once again. When talking with an employee, it was shared that this business closed due to renovations, however it was difficult to get the permits approved by the city. The restaurant fully renovated their kitchen and their outdoor seating. Their kitchen seems to be less cluttered and significantly more organized, and what used to be an outdoor wooden ramp is now repaved concrete. Their restaurant has undergone many changes and their menu has experienced something similar. Some dishes like the calamari have been removed, however there have been many more delightful additions such as poke bowls. Their recipes and the taste of their delicious dishes have stayed the same, which The Forge was more than happy to confirm. Though the restaurant has not been very busy since their reopening, they are hoping that once word gets out that they have opened, business will return to normal. They are also relying on the weather to get warmer in order to appeal to the people more. They still haven’t quite figured out how to promote themselves yet, but are excited to see what people think about their new look. Their service did take quite some time, approximately 20 minutes for one of their sushi rolls, but it is understandable since they make everything fresh and from scratch. It is definitely recommended to order ahead for a quick service, however if one does have time, it is nice to enjoy the wharf and sit in their outdoor patio on a sunny day.
