Santa Barbara High student Enzo Peluffo is one of those rare people who will graduate high school knowing exactly what he wants to do with his life. A member of the Multimedia Arts and Design Academy (MAD) since freshman year, Peluffo first joined to further his interest in digital art, but what kept him there was a passion for filmmaking. Peluffo was first exposed to filmography in 9th grade saying that, “I met this guy who graduated my freshman year whose name was Santi, he was pursuing film and he was a filmmaker and that really inspired me. Then I started doing film and that’s what really kept me in MAD, and that was going to be what I want to do.”
Through his four years in MAD, Peluffo has completed many projects for the academy, with his favorite being the music video project, of which he said, “[it was] mostly because I had more control over what I got to do. We drove all the way to Calico, a ghost town five hours away, and it was really fun. I got to have a lot of fun with my friends and film a really cool music video that I’m now submitting for my college applications.” As far as higher education goes, Peluffo is hoping to attend either NYU or USC, universities both known for their prestigious film schools.
Wherever he ends up, Peluffo plans on studying film production, a major that will serve him well as he begins his career in the entertainment industry. Of his professional aspirations, Peluffo stated that “I want to mainly work as a director and be able to write my own things, but mostly to direct my own films.” Some of his directorial inspirations include the works of Wes Anderson, Guillermo Del Toro, and Edgar Wright elements of which you can see in Peluffo’s own films. It’s only the beginning for Peluffo, so be sure to look out for his work as it graces the silver screen in the future.
