Boys Volleyball Season is Underway!

The boys volleyball team is looking bright this season after going 7-1 in Channel League last year. The boys volleyball team has many returning players to the team this season. Many key players on the team who make an impact are all juniors and include setter Ford Harman, opposite and brother Will Harman, middle Michael Denver, and libero Dana Whitney. The season kicked off on March 2 against Oxnard High School winning 3-0 . Sadly, in the second game the Dons lost to the San Marcos Royals 3-0, but came out on top against Pacifica 3-0 in the third game of the season.

When interviewing junior Raglan Kear he was asked “What are the team’s goals for this season?” He responded, “Our goals for the season are to win the Channel League and make a deep run in playoffs.” The team has been continuing to work hard on and off the court. Raglan added they are also getting prepared for this season mentally and physically. When questioned “What were some changes going to be made after the loss against San Marcos?” Raglan answered “We don’t have a solid lineup yet. Once we lock in a few guys into positions we will be a lot better and more ready for San Marcos.”

The team is already 2-1 in the Channel League and has their next game against Buena on March 16. The boys volleyball team will continue to hope to win their league or make it far in the playoffs through the season and with that dedication the season is looking entertaining. The Dons are also looking to beat the Royals at the next match at home on March 17. With the boys volleyball team making adjustments and preparing for their upcoming games, the season is looking pretty strong.
